Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain

How long do a set of dentures last?
Dentures will, eventually, need to be replaced, but with the proper care, they can last several years. In general, dentists recommend getting new dentures every five to eight years. Over this time, dentures get worn out due to regular use, and your gums may change shape or shrink over the years.

What is the best material for making dentures?
Porcelain is still used in some instances and has a number of advantages: A glass-like ceramic material, porcelain has the same translucent appearance as natural tooth enamel, and can be color-matched closely with other teeth in the patient's mouth. Porcelain teeth feel similar to natural teeth.
